Our First Pittsburgh Home Show Booth in 2017!
It All Started in 2012…..
Founded in 2012 by Evan and Cindy Strittmatter, a mother-and-son team from Indiana, Pennsylvania, Indiana Vac began as a local vacuum store that also offered central vacuum systems and service. Within just a few years, demand for central vacuum installation and service throughout the Pittsburgh market began growing rapidly. As Evan found himself spending 4–5 days a week throughout the Pittsburgh Metro area installing, servicing, and designing systems, it became clear that the central vacuum division had grown into something much larger than a small part of the business.
In 2015, Pittsburgh Central Vacuum was established as a dedicated division focused exclusively on central vacuum installation, service, repairs, and retractable hose systems throughout Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, and Northern West Virginia. Since then, Pittsburgh Central Vacuum has grown into one of the largest and most experienced central vacuum installation companies in the region, with projects ranging from 1,000 sq. ft. mobile homes and townhouses to 21,000 sq. ft. luxury custom homes and even 300,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facilities.
The Growth Continued….
In 2023, following the sudden passing of longtime owner Bill, Evan and Cindy Strittmatter took over the location formerly occupied by Sweeper City in the Point Plaza in Butler, Pennsylvania, rebranding the store as Keystone Vacuum. What began as an opportunity to continue serving the loyal customers of Sweeper City quickly became the perfect home base for the growing Pittsburgh Central Vacuum division.
The Butler showroom soon evolved into the central hub for both Pittsburgh Central Vacuum and Keystone Vacuum, giving customers a convenient location to explore central vacuum systems, retractable hose products, attachment kits, replacement power units, and supplies in person. With expanded inventory, shipping capabilities, and a growing installation and service fleet, both businesses continued to grow together while maintaining the same family-owned focus on customer service, quality products, and expert installation support throughout Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, and Northern West Virginia.
